"Tomorrow I am off to the luxury watch fair in Basel, which welcomes 100,000 buyers and aficionados from around the world. Richemont, owner of some the finest watch manufacturers, chooses to welcome its fans to neighboring Geneva at the same time. For me, it is important to see what is being developed as the appetite from our members to know what is coming is paramount to us being successful. The appetite for these timepieces, even as world markets seem to be spiraling into decline, is stronger than ever. As I mentioned earlier in the week, in relation to the contemporary art market, the world’s wealthy are showing no signs of reining in.
